The Cypriot pita bread is very different from the Greek one. They are like very thin bread rolls, but they have a different shape and taste. They are oval in shape and what sets them apart is that a void is created inside. Thus, the Cypriot pita bread can be opened and filled.
Cypriot pita breads are traditionally filled with skewers and seftalia, but also a salad (without oil) usually consisting of chopped cabbage, tomato, cucumber, parsley, onion, pickles (various vegetables with mustard) and lemon. But, like any pita breads, we can fill it with whatever ingredients we want every time!
Have fun!
